I am looking for some info on my husbands side of the family. His great grandmother was Rose POPE TINKER, she was the daughter of John E. POPE and Martha ? . Rose had a brother named Ervin POPE.I have Johns Death Certificate and it states that his father was Alfred M. POPE and hus mother was unknown, but she was born in Indiana. Ive been doing some reading on this county and found out that Fairfield no longer exsists and their graves have been moved to make room for a lake? Would appreciate any info anyone can give me on this family. I found them living in New Madrid County, New Madrid Missouri when Rose was about 7 years old on the 1880 Census. However there it states that John was born in Kentucky??? One of these has to be wrong, either the census or the death certificate, I have two possible places for his birth, Ohio or Kentucky, can anyone solve that one?
