Margaret Barrett HEATH b. 31 Aug 1862 in Benton Co. MO. d. 5 Feb 1948, Francis Marion RICHARDSON (b Feb 1857 MO) on 12 June 1878. Francis states both his parents were born in AL. In a later census (1900) he states his father was from TN, his mother AL). No issue. They, along with her brother James Edward Heath (below) appear to have moved to Santa Barbara, CA.by 1900. In 1900 they are living alone next to Charles Heath in Santa Barbara, CA. where he is working as farm labor and she is teaching..Her father Calloway G. was living with this daughter up until his death. WWII ration books were discovered in a Texas thrift store for this family by an individual not with the Heath family. They list Margaret Barrett Richardson as 80 yrs old living in Maricopa, CA with their adopted son Herbert T Richardson (Sr)’s wife Donnie now 45,, their child now 22 Herbert Richardson Jr. and Charles Barrett Richardson now 14, and a little girl Doreen Lelia Richardson, age 4. In 1920 Margaret Barrett (Heath) Richardson was teaching school at Wasioja School, Wasioja, Santa Barbara, CA. Her husband Francis was listed as a farmer. Living next to them is a 44 yr old widow named Jesse Richardson born in MO. In 1930 she is still teaching and he is stlll farming at age 73, but living with them are Herbert Tasker Richardson and his wife Donnie and their 3 children ages 11, 9 and 4. Also with them is their nephew Thomas W. Heath, age 36 (b.ca. 1894) who lists himself as a driller in a oil field and his wife Clara B.__, their child Madge M. age 6.They adopted a child: Herbert Tasker RICHARDSON b. ca 1888 in KS. This Herbert Tasker Richardson marries Donnie Lottie WILSON b. 1897 in CA and have 3 children:
John M. RICHARDSON b. ca. 1919 (Corporal John Richardson was killed in the Phillipines during WWII).

Nancy Melvina HEATH b. 26 July 1867 in Scott, Illinois d. 4 April 1898 m. 19 Sept 1882 in Hickory Co. MO. Joseph Edward JENKINS b. 21 Jun1861 . Joseph E. Jenkins was another son of Abraham Jenkins and his wife Mary Green(e) from Benton Co. MO.(They are found in both the 1870 and 1880 census for Tom Twp, Benton Co MO listed as Abraham Jinkins in 1870 and Abram Jenkins in 1880.) (Ida Heath, a daughter of Jonas B Heath Jr., married his brother Phineas Jenkins). After Nancy Melvina Heath dies in 1898, Joseph Edward Heath seems to have taken off by himself and placed his children in care. He is found working as a teamster in Pinal, Arizona Territory, age 38, no children with him. But also in June 1900 four of these children of Nancy Melvina Heath are enumerated as living in the ‘Good Templars Home for Orphans’ in Vallejo, Solano Co. CA. In 1910 Joseph Edward Jenkins reappears living in Kern Co. CA and has some of his children with him again. He has also remarried. He remarried in 1907 in Rosedale, Kern Co. CA, Wilhelmina Andrea Minnie’ IPSEN b.26 Jan 1874 Denmark, d. 26 June 1961 in Bakersfield, Kern Co. CA. In 1920 census the son Allen Jenkins is living in Kern Co. CA in the home of his uncle William Jonas Heath. In the 1930 census, Minnie (Ipsen) Jenkins is widowed, working as a housekeeper for a private family and living with the following children in Bakersfield, Kern Co. CA: Nancy J Jenkins, Eva W. Jenkins, Katherine Jenkins, Joe E Jenkins, all teenagers. Nancy is working as a public school teacher.

James Edward HEATH b. 15 Sept 1874 in Benton Co. MO. d. 1958 must have moved to California with his sister Margaret Barrett Heath and her husband Herbert T.Richardson. He is found at age 67 living at Route 5, Box 145, Bakersfield,Kern County, CA. at age 67.

John Barrett HEATH (b.22 Feb 1836 d. 31 Dec 1911) Born in Cabell Co VA. and moved to Tom Twp, Benton Co. Mo with his parents Jonas B. Heath and Margaret Barrett about 1839. He was just about 4 when his father died. Upon coming of age he moved to California where a large number of the Heaths from Jonas B Heath’s family had already moved to. He is first found living at age 24 in California next to his eldest sister Louisa (Heath) Burchard in June 1860, enumerated as a single man ‘Jno’ Heath. He married on 16 Sept 1861 in Butte Co. CA. Mary E. BOULWARE b. Oct 1844 MO. d. between 1900-1910. She was the daughter of Philip Boulware b. 1811 Pike Co IL and his wife Berthenia Bailey b 1816 MO. In the June1860 census for Hamilton Twp, Butte Co. CA. In the 1870, 1880 census they are still farming in Butte Co. CA. 1900 census John B. and Mary and 4 children are living together in a household in Hamilton Twp, Butte Co CA. In 1900 they state they’ve been married 40 yrs and have had 9 children, 6 still living. In 1910 census for Hamilton Twp, Butte Co. CA a 74 yr old widowed John B. Heath b. VA is living in the household of his son William Heath and his wife Mary A and their two children Gordon Heath 5 b.CA and Leora Heath 4 b.CA. They say they’ve been married 6 years. John Barrett Heath (middle name in honor of his mother Margaret Barrett) is buried in Gridley-Biggs Cemetery, Butte Co. CA.
