Dady Family in Rich Hill, early 1900's
Posted by: Laura Smeal Date: July 07, 2000 at 18:23:49

I am looking for any information on Alfred and Elizabeth DADY from the Bates County, MO area. Alfred died in 1943 and Elizabeth died in 1936. They are supposed to be buried in Rich Hill. They had 8 children, Alta, Cora, Alfred Jr., Harry, Mary (my gr-grandmother), Johnc, Lucille, and Sylvia. I am especially interested in facts about their lives, where they lived, worked, worshipped, etc. I also have a puzzle; some records seem to indicate that the DADY family has been in the US since the 1600's, but family history says that Alfred and Elizabeth came over from Ireland in the 1800's. A death certificate I have for Alfred Sr's death date lists him as Alfred Jr., but a distant cousin is the daughter of Alfred Jr. and HE died in California. Are there two lines of DADYS here with similar names? Are the death certificates in error (which happens!)? How is the GALE family connected? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Laura
