Dear Sue, Thank you for you response to my query re: Jesse Gennings (Jennings) Haskins. The information I have on John Haskins is that he was married to Mary Jane Call. Jesse was born ca 1859, reportedly in England, though we've been unable to substantiate this information. This story has been passed down over the years. John and his family left England when Jesse was 13 years old, which would have been about 1872.?? We are not aware of other children. Your information is quite interesting in view of the name Elizabeth Jennings. Some of family spells the Jesse’s middle name as Gennings and others spell it, “Jennings”
I will forward your information to our family historian and see if he can come up with a connection. Thank you for writing. Please write again. Martha Anne Holt
PS Is it possible that John married again after the death of his wife, Elizabeth Jennings Haskins, or did his demise precede hers? The dates for the children you’ve listed don’t match up, unless John and Elizabeth came from England or our information is incorrect. I suppose we should consider all possibilities. I do look forward to hearing from you again. My e-mail address is Martha
