I don't know what the W. stands for. More than likely, it stands for William, you know how everyone named their children William?
I have a cousin that has more info on the Hokes when she gets the time to send it to me and I will relay it to you.
Robert F. Hoke, who fought in the civil war was supposedly my grandfathers uncle, according to Charles Hoke, my uncle.
