William HANCOCK & Jane HUNTER

I'm trying to find a lead on my husband's 2xgreat-grandparents. William (or G.A.) HANCOCK married Jane HUNTER, supposedly in Bates Co. (That information is from Martha's funeral card.) There, they had six children:
Benjamin, 1849
James, 1851
twins Martha and W. Andrew, 1854
Elizabeth, 1956
Virginia, 1859.

By the 1860 census, the family was in Fannin Co., TX, where the parents and 3 of the children reportedly died in a late Indian raid soon after. Family lore says the 3 surviving children, twins Martha and Andrew and brother James, were raised in a couple of foster families in an area near Leonard, Fannin Co., TX. By the 1870 census they living on their own.

Any leads on these two families in Missouri would be greatly appreciated.
