Dear K.,

I have no idea if the two names are the same or not. Another researcher gave me the following information:

Robert L. Cheiviron and Sarah Erwin, 28 March 1885, Bates Co.

I know that they had a daughter named Lula. I assume that Robert died because I have a census record that lists Lula Cheviron(or Sheviron) listed as a step-daughter of Pat F. Mooney in Poteau, Indian Territory (Oklahoma). The wife/mother in that household was Sarah Mooney. I have recently been in contact with descendants of Pat & Sarah Erwin Mooney, and they tell me that Lula Cheviron died by drowning in PA, when the family was living there. She was just a teenager when she died. (I don't have the dates handy, but can send them to you in future if you are interested.)

Can you share with me what information you have run across in reference to Lula Cheverton? I would be interested to see how -- it at all -- it fits into the info that I have.

I would be interested in knowing if this marriage is a part of your connection to the Cheverton name -- it may be that there was unreadable handwriting, or a misspelling some time. The Erwin line that I am connected to is sometimes, in the earlier days, spelled Irwin. Makes for difficult research.

Best regards, and thanks for your interest.

Sarah Erwin
