Don't know if there is any kinship or not. I think these people had a wider range of contact than we think possible. Perry Green Brock (father James) was born c 1789 in SC (his older brother James born c 1788 in NC). By 1808 the family was in Barren Co., KY.By 1810 Perry Green was over in Hopkins Co., KY and was in old Howard Co., MO by 1816. He settled on land that began in Howard Co., then 1818 in Cooper Co., then 1820 in Saline Co. and now in Pettis Co., a few miles north of Sedalia. In 1825, Saline Co., he sold his land for a pittance to the children of his widowed sister Mrs. Elizabeth Brock Fuller. He then became an original settler of Jackson Co.,MO with his land near Independence. When the Mormon War broke out in 1834, he and brother James sold their lands and moved across the MO River to Platte Indian Lands (now Platte Co.). In 1844, he left there and moved near several of his children who lived just NE of Harrisonville, Cass Co., MO. In 1858, he sold his land and moved to the new county of Wise Co., settling at Prairie Point (now Rhome) where he died 1861/1862.
His brother James married in Hopkins Co., MO and remained there for several years before following him to Jackson Co., MO and to Platte Co., but then moved to Jasper Co., Mo where he died soon after arriving in 1844.
While Perry Green Brock was in old Howard Co., MO, a Blassingame Brock married there. We know Blassingame and his brother Terry W., who married a sister of Blassingame's wife, moved with the McDowell family to McMinn Co., KY and later Blassingame's son James came to Jasper Co., MO where he studied medicine under James of Jasper Co.'s son Dr. James W. and then Terry W.'s son Blassin G/B.G. then came to MO where he married Perry Green's granddaughter. We don't know how all these Brocks tie together - as yet.
There was another group of Brocks in Cass Co., MO.I know one was named John Brock and they lived near Strasburg, Cass Co. One of their descendants married one of Perry Green Brock's Shelton grandsons. Sure makes one wonder just how and if they were all related.
