I am seeking information from a book titled 'Early Barry County' by Addah Longley Matthews and published in 1965 by the Barry Co. Historical Society (old organization). This book has long been out of print. I recently went to the public library in Cassville (Co. seat of Barry) to look for a copy but did not find it in the genealogy room.
I have a copy of an old (1982) Family Group Sheet regarding the John and Eleanor (Carson) Montgomery family who settled in Barry Co. ca. 1837-39. One of the references listed was: "Early Barry Co 1965 by Barry Co. Hist. Soc."
At the bottom of the FGS is written "The Montgomerys and Carsons lived in Bond Co. Ill. from ca 1820 to 1837. The Carsons were in N. Carolina first, then to Kentucky. Eleanor Montgomery may be a sister of John Carson, who died in Barry Co. Mo. 1839."
I am interested what Mrs. Matthews wrote regarding these families. Does anyone have a copy of 'Early Barry County' and would be willing to do a look-up from it?
