Marvin is not listed in the Soc. Sec. death database yet and they are about a year behind in their postings.
As you were there just before Memorial Day, whoever takes care of the cemetery may have added fresh dirt to the gravesite to fill in where it had sunken. A lot of cemeteries are using sand as a backfill and they do not have to come back and refill the grave.
It's kind of hard to tell 3 month old cement from 1 year old cement. You should be able to contact the careaker and find out when the actual burial was.
Case in point of a Kirksville burial where son who died last year in Dec. wasn't buried until his mother died and was buried the end of May 2008.
