I agree, Mexico was a good foundation. I am daily grateful to Mrs. Gilman (kindergarten)for teaching me to appreciate so many things, and to Miss Putnam for teaching me to read. I still swear by the 'sound it out' method and am an avid reader, as are my children and grandchildren. What a wonderful legacy. I still refer to Mexico as "home". The Chamber of Commerce has done an admirable job in bringing businesses into Mexico to fill the gap left by the refractories.
