I'm trying to identify the date of death and burial of my gg grandfather Jacob Schell. He moved from Jewell county KS about 1881 to a parcel he bought from a JW Enoch in 1882 in the NE corner of W. Clark township. At least three of his sons: George W. Schell, Jacob Henry Schell, and William Riley Schell lived in the county for another 15-20 years. Jacob's wife Eva Conover is recorded in the Atchison county death records and the cemetery book, "Gone but not Forgotten" as dying on Dec 29, 1883 as a widow. She is buried in the English Grove Cemetery, but I have not found her gravestone. Two of her grandsons (by George) are also buried there and have a legible grave marker. There are unmarked spaces on either side of the marker, so I'm thinking Jacob may also be buried there with Eva. After Eva died, minor sons Henry Jacob(or Jacob Henry) and Riley William were assigned JW Osborn as "Curator" of their portion of the family estate. Any information from family letters, etc. that mention the Schells, and specifically Jacob and Eva, would be much appreciated. A township plat from ~1900 shows section neighbors in Clark of FW Walter, HP Hurst, Lewis, Davis, Wm Flowers, Knapp.
George m. Clara Belle Rand, whose father Simeon Rand was also in the area. Jacob Henry married Cora Foster, also from the Rand family.
