I am looking for the burial place of Robert B Stout...
and his wife, Susan Stout.
He was born in 1804 - Adams Co, Ohio
She was born in 1806 in Maryland
He died in 1864... I have that he died in Rockport, MO
According to the 1860 census, they lived in Benton Twp, Atchison Co, MO and he was a farmer...
Family history says he owned a store in Rockport during the Civil War and "carpet baggers" burned it down. The family lived above the store and he saved the children by throwing them out the window with the mattress. This may not be true as "the children" would have been too old to "throw out with the mattress"... I would love to find a news article about this fire.
