Hello Patricia, I got this email and am posting it to you.
Hi: I'm not a subscriber to GenForum but used to contribute to there before it cost to do so. I see where you and Patricia Turner were corresponding about McKillops. I can't answer her post but saw that you wrote her Malcolm was from Inverness, Megantic County, Quebec. I descend from the McKillops of that place and have several Malcolms in my family but cannot locate hers therein...but she may be interested to know that there were four Mckillop families (relationship not being found) that came to Megantic County from the Isle of Arran, Scotland, when, in 1829, the Lord Hamilton wanted to enlargen his deer park so told the tenant farmers on that land that if they peacefully located to Megantic County, Quebec, each family would be given 100 acres there free. The families that left included these four McKillop families and her Malcolm is assuredly the son of one of these families.
I noted you had info on Peter Currie McKillop. He is my relative (first cousin to my great grandfather) and was also from Megantic County, Quebec. He lived in Atchinson County and died there. His wife, Katie, died (date unknown) and is said to be buried there in Home Cemetery. Peter married (2) to Ida Smith and I know nothing of her.
Could you let me know what you have on Peter and his family. I do not know if he had any children.
Thank you very much----Tom Goldrup.
