Looking for info on William Arthur Pickens, born 1843, in Hancock County, Illinois. He married Mary Caroline Bagby on February 26, 1863, in Hancock County, Illinois (source: Hancock County Marriage Book, Volume 4, Page 4, License #1325).

William and Mary had five children, Frank, Ora, Lula, Pettie and William Charles. William Charles was born in Kirksville, Adair County, Missouri, November 3, 1885. It is believed that William Charles removed to Idaho where he was married about 1915. Nothing is known about the other four children other than their names.

William Arthur Pickens served in Company I, 151 Illinois Infantry during the Civil War. His residence at time of his enlistment was New Salem, Hancock County, Illinois. On July 3, 1890, a Civil War Pension Application was filed in Missouri based on William A. Pickens being Invalid. On May 15, 1894, Mary C. Bagby Pickens filed for Widow benefits, also in Missouri.

It is believed that William Arthur was the son of Samuel and Nancy Stell Pickens, married August 15, 1838, in Schuyler County, Illinois (source: Schuyler County Marriage Book, Volume 1, Page 77, License # 667). Little else is known about this Pickens family.

Mary Caroline Bagby was the second of nine children of William and Eliza Waring Bagby. She was born November 21, 1842, in Adams County, Illinois.

Any info or leads regarding this family will be appreciated.
