I found the names of those executed in the History of Adair County by Eugene Morrow Violette: p. 103 The day after the battle [Aug 6, 1862] fifteen of the Confederates who had been captured in the fight were executed on a spot about 200 yards southwest of the present Wabash Depot. They were executed on the charge of having violated their paroles. They were: William Bates, R. M. Galbreath, Lewis Rollins, William Wilson, Columbus Harris, Rueben Thomas or Thompson, Thomas Webb and Reuben Green of Monroe County; James Christian, David Wood and Bennett Hayden of Shelby County; William Ballee and Hamilton Brannon of Marion County; and John Kent of Adair County. Col Frisby H. McCullough was executed the following day. The battle began at 10 am and was over by 1 pm. Hope this helps. Alice Notify Administrator about this message?
