Hi again Carol, I just got a booklet on business ventures in Stillwater, which appears to have been compiled from city directory information and it lists the following: 1882-83 James Connars and Son General Blacksmithing Carriages Made and Repaired 1884-85 ("Unusual Ad" ) James Connars & Son 219 South Main 1892-93 C.E. Conner & Company, 301 N. Main Street, General Blacksmith/Carriage Painting, etc. I found a Richard Connor in Baltimore (husband of Alphonsine Poirier who lived in Stillwater; marriage license found there) who was a carriage painter, so I thought he might be a son. (At least one of Alphonsine's children was born in Baltimore, so I'm fairly sure this is the right Richard Connor). I have not found any Connor (or variant spelling) in the Stillwater census. Where did you get James' children's names from? Maybe there will be a connection...hope, hope! Pat Notify Administrator about this message?
