I am looking for a family who would have come to Minnesota from Manchester, Wisconsin James R. Parker (born 1801 in NY) and wife Sally (born 1802 in NY)owned land near the village of Manchester WI - they came to WI about 1848 when his brother - Abel Parker returned to WI from NY with a new bride (to be) Hannah Rose. They had three children with them - Charles Parker (born 1836) Mary J. Parker (born 1843) and Helen M. Parker (born 1845) all born in New York - probably in Cortland Co. NY. They are listed in the Albany Marquette Co., WI census for 1850 (Albany later became Manchester) In the 1860 census for Manchester the two girls are listed Mary Wilcox and Helen Wilcox and there is a Polly Ann Parker also in the household - she would be Polly Ann Cooley who marred their son Charles - she was also born in 1836 in NY - unfortunately Charles died at the age of 23 (Jan)in 1860 - so he is not in the 1860 census but Polly is listed as Polly Ann Parker. (father Jonathan - mother Desire) It would apear that around 1867 James R. Sold the farm in Manchester and the next place we can place him and Sally is in Waseca Co. Minnesota - at least we assume this is the same couple - we do not know why they came to Waseca Co. My theory is that, having retired James R went with one of the girls or his daughter-in-law who may have remarried. (James R. and Sally are buried in Woodville cemetery, Waseca Co. he died in 1874 and she in 1904) Does anyone out there recognize this story? Perhaps James R and Sally Parker - buried in Waseca Co are not the ones I am looking for - Does anyone know this? would appreciate anything you can tell me on this matter.
