My late grandma and I did some geneology many years back and I have a few old pictures that I thought some of you might be interested in. I have scanned them into my computer and have them in jpg form if anyone wants a copy.
The first is a class picture from 1906 at the Byron Public school. It's a picture of all of the school children and the teacher is an EXCELLENT quality picture. My great grandma is one of the children- she was 8 years old in the picture. It looks like most of the children are around that age, which would put their birth years around 1898.
The second is from 1916- my great grandma wrote Philbrook school on it. It's a picture of all the children and I beleive that she was the teacher but the quality is a bit poor and I can see for sure.
The third is the Philbrook Section Crew 22 (railroad crew) and is a very good photo of 11 men standing on and in front of a hand car on the tracks. It says it was taken in 1917. I am wondering if anyone has any information about that photo also. I was wondering what RR company they worked for but it was my great great grandpa Alvin Krouse that worked in that gang. I have another picture from afar of 3 guys on the crew by a hand car and by what might be a warming house, but the picture is double exposed and not very clear.
I have a fourth picture of my great grandma in front of a school with 8 children. I know she taught in Staples and also in Philbrook but don't know what year it was taken.
I've had these pictures but never done anything with them. I thought there might be people out there that have relatives in the pictures and I'd be happy to share them. If anyone would like these pictures or has any infomation or stories they would like to share, please drop me a line. Thanks!
