The Minnesota Historical Society has a Death certificate site. They have death certificates from 1908-1959.
If you go to this site:
http://people.mnhs.org/dci/Search.cfm
and type his name in you will see that he died in Cottonwood County. You can also order the death certificate. The death certificate should have the parents name on it, although sometimes it just says unknown.
