Rau Family from Parlinek, Posen

I am researching my ancestors who once lived in Posen, Province of Prussia. My grandfather was Wilhelm (William) Rau, b. 8/4/1867, probably in Parlinek. I understand that Parlinek was a small farming community that was completely destroyed during World War II. His father was Gottlieb, b. 9/4/1831, m. Wilhelmina Kruger, b. 4/29/1939. Gottlieb was an officer in the Prussian Army and a member of the Kaiserhaus. His father was named Jacob or Jakob Rau and is said to have been an aristocrat. Jacob probably lived in an area south of Madgeburg that I am told is, or was, known as Gommern. Alternatively, he may have lived in or near Heidelberg. Jacob was married to Hermina Osterly (Osterby, Oesterle?). In addition to Gottlieb, they had five other children: Frederick (who died in infancy), Wilhelm, John, Edward, Karl and Pauline.

My grandfather, Wilhelm, emigrated to America in 1883. His brother Gustaf, b. 11/4/1869, emigrated two years earlier. His father Gottlieb followed in 1886. Eventually, they settled in Swift County, Minnesota.

Any information concerning my ancestors would be greatly appreciated.

Lee Rau
