I seek information about the Peter Miller family (my grandparents) who moved from Georgeville, (formerly a town four or five miles SE of Belgrade on highway 55) Stearns County, MN to Morris in early 1900's. They moved there to either open one or take over an established creamery -- he was a very well-known butter-maker. They apparently left Morris for Ellendale, ND in the early 1910's, but appear to have retained ownership of their Morris home and of the creamery, as they returned to Morris in the mid-1920's, but only for two or so years. They left again in the Spring of 1925, but may have continued to retain ownership of the creamery and the home in Morris.
Is there a "Who's - Who" for Morris in the early years, a commercial history of the town, so to speak? While I have interest of their early years in Morris, as my mother and her four sisters went to school there, I am also very much interested in any background information about Peter Miller personally. I know he came to the area of West-Central MN from Denmark in 1888, at the age of 16, attended the U of MN Ag ("Dairy") School, graduating in 1895, and went on over the years to open and/or take over, and significantly build their business, several creameries in MN and ND, becoming at one point in the late 1910's the ND "State Dairy Commissioner."
Any look-ups, information summaries, identification of electronically accessable data sites (as can't get to Morris area right now), would be greatly appreciated.
