Judy,

Are you sure it was John Galbreath?

I found a Nancy Caroline Brenton (nee POLK) married to a James Brenton and they were living in Excelsior, Hennepin Co, MN in 1860. They had J. Riley 1854, Wm Albert 1855, Mary Ellen 1857, Sarah Louise 1858, Mary Jane 1859, James 1862. James Brenton alleged d. 1862 in MS.

There is a family tree on the net that says Nancy Caroline Polk married James Brenton and then married James Galbreath who d. 1891. Nancy d. 1898. Galbreath children were Katherine b. 1864 Henderson MN, James in 1866, Malvina in 1867 and Hannah in 1871.

Hope this helps.
