Denise,

1920 Dryden, Sibley, MN for Hoppe
August, 57, b. MN
Matilda, 53, b. Germany, Immigrated 1861
Otto, 26 MN
Bertha 24 MN
Martha, 19, MN
next farm
Herman, 28, MN

Didn't find August before 1920.

There was a Ludwig b. Prussia age 50 on the 1880 census but no son named August. There was an Albert which would have been same age as August.

The closest August b. 1863 WI would have been son of August b. Prussia age 47 on 1880 census in Hartland, Shawano, WI.
Don't know if this is of help.
