I just received the Civil War Pension file for Joseph Spencer Bailey and his widow, Mary Ann Bailey.

Joseph Spencer Bailey married (Mrs.) Mary Ann Cramer on 3 Feb 1868 in Elk River, Sherburne Co, MN. - The Sherburne County marriage records show her as Mary A. Cramen.

Mary Ann Bailey submitted an affidavit stating that she was previously married to S. S. Cramer and that she married Joseph Spencer Bailey 3 years after S. S. Cramer died.

There was also an affidavit from George J. Wheeler of American Falls, Idaho dated 1911 stating that he knew Mary Ann Wheeler before she married S. S. Cramer and that she married Joseph Spencer Bailey 3 years after Mr. Cramer died.

Joseph's brother, Ransom Bailey of Elk River also submitted an affidavit.

I would also appreciate hearing from anyone researching the above families.
