I am searching for information on Andrew Thompson and his family.

Information I have so far and would like to confirm is:
Andrew Thompson
B. 1807 Tyrone, Ireland
Md. Ann McCormick
B. ? Monacana, Ireland

Children of Andrew and Nancy
1. Andrew
2. Samuel
3. William
4. James
5. John
6. Thomas

Andrew Thompson, who with his family, left his native Scotland, where religious freedom had been denied him, for the more tolerant Northern Ireland settling in County Tyrone.
It was here that his six sons grew up, following the calling of their father as farmer and tanner.

With the exception of Samuel, who had emigrated to Australia, the family went to America sailing on the steamboat ‘War Eagle’ arriving in St Paul, Minnesota on 12 May 1857.
On the 19 May they went on to Rice County, where the father owned 160 acres of land, he having sent his two sons William and James there in 1949, furnishing them with money to prepare for the family’s coming.

Andrew's eldest son Andrew remained on the farm in and about St Paul until August 1862, when he enlisted in Company G. 6th Minnesota Infantry, Fort Snelling, he being then about 30 years of age.

His second son Samuel emigrated to Australia sailing on the vessel ‘St Vincent’, which sailed from Plymouth, England on the 4 August1851 arriving in Sydney, Australia on 15 December 1851.

If anyone has any information or a suggestion as to where I could start my seach I would be very grateful.
Thankyou
Ally
