TJ,

Thank you very much for all of the great leads. I'll search through the online images of the MNHS and the C&NWHS and see what I can find. I did receive this photocopy of a retired personnel card ( http://www.craigmagnuson.com/anders.htm ) for my great great-grandfather, Anders Magnuson, from the archives of the C&NWHS. That was a great unexpected find, as most of the C. St. P. M. & O. Ry. personnel records are from after he retired. Hopefully I’ll find some images or maps now of the railroad yards and shops in St. Paul where Anders worked from 1875-1906. He also worked on railroad grading and surfacing gangs, apparently from about 1870 to 1875. The last time I was in St. Paul, I went to the library and looked through the microfilmed city directories from the 1870's to the 1890's and found the same employer and occupation information was listed as is on the retired personnel card. Thanks again for the leads!
