Margaret Hannah Wisdorf

Margaret Hannah Wisdorf was born on December 18, 1904, at Melvin, Iowa, to John and Mary Ellen Gleason Brady. The family moved to the Fulda area when Margaret was 10. She attended St. Gabriel’s School and graduated in 1925. On April 22, 1929, she and Jack Wisdorf were married at St. Gabriel’s Church. They farmed south of Fulda for nine years and then moved to a farm, east of Lime Creek, where they lived until they retired in 1976 and moved to a new home in Fulda. Margaret became a resident of Maple Lawn in August 1993 and passed away there on September 5, 1996, at the age of 91. She was a member of St. Gabriel’s Church where she had served in the Ladies Aid and Rosary Club. She belonged to the Busy Belles Extension Club and the Maple Lawn Pink Ladies. She enjoyed sewing for the Pope’s Storeroom, making rosaries, gardening and crocheting.

Survivors include her husband, Jack of Fulda; seven children and their spouses: Leo and JoAnn Wisdorf of Windom, MN; Jeanette and John Manning of Highland Park, IL, Claire Wisdorf of Wheeling, IL, John Wisdorf of Little Canada, MN, Jerome and Mary Wisdorf of Roseville, MN, Eugene Wisdorf of Slayton, MN, and Margaret Mary and Tom Gurucharri of Wichita, KS; seven grandchildren: Lisa and Alan Wisdorf, Brian, Kim and Jeff Wisdorf, and Kelly and Colleen Scanlan; one great-grandson, Jace Wisdorf; two sisters, a brother and their spouses: Irene Haberman of Fulda, Emery and Luella Brady of Fulda and Agnes and William Snider of Clearwater, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Robert, grandson Terry Wisdorf and a brother James Brady.

Funeral services were held at St. Gabriel’s Church in Fulda, MN on Saturday, September 7, 1996, at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Eugene Egan officiating. The organist was Mary Ann Boom. The song leader was Sheila Crowley. Pallbearers were grandchildren: Brian Wisdorf, Jeff Wisdorf, Colleen Scanlan, Kelly Scanlan, Lisa Wisdorf, Alan Wisdorf and Kim Houtkooper. Interment as St. Gabriel’s Cemetery in Fulda, MN.
