Hi - There is a possibility we may be relatives though many generations back. Carl Max (b. 1860 d. 1944) (Carl was a herder of geese in Germany before coming to America) married Louise Steiner. One of their children Emma Max my relative - Other children were Charlie, Edward, Otto, Lizzie, Ida, Clara, Bullane, Lena, Henry. I am not sure what part of Gernabt they were in, but I have relatives from several places in Prussia and Saxony. My mother was Edna Esther Augusta Wolter - she was the daughter of Emma Augusta Wolter and Herman Wolter from Breckenridge, MN. Emma Augusta was the daughter of Ernst and Ernestine(a)?Engish who immigrated to America from Prussia when she was only 3 years old. Ernestine(a)? was the daughter of (i believe - not sure )either Carl or August Max who were the sons of Martin Michael Max and Carolina Bachman (who was the daughter of Carl Bachman nd Marie Bauer.

Some of my information in the Max area is a little sketchy owing to the confusing notes I have written by one of my aunts or possibly even my mother. Does any of that match up to your records?
