A friend forwarded your query on to me. I coordinate the Hennepin County Genweb site www.rootsweb.com/~mnhennep/ and thought I might be able to help with Catherine Gardiner.

I found a Catherine Florence Gardiner on the MN Death Indexes at http://www.mnhs.org/ who died in Hennepin County MN in October 1952. Her age is not given, but the original death record would give you more about her, that's if you think she might have died in Hennepin County.

I don't have the 1915 Mpls. City Directory, but do have the 1916. Did not find a Catherine Gardiner, or Mrs. A. There is an Albert W. Gardiner, but no way to know if this is yours. No Mrs. John, or a John spelled Gardiner. There were 4 John Gardners,(no i) and a Mrs. Katherine Gardner, but says (Wid. Louis).

Have you tried to find the family in the 1910 Census in Minneapolis, or do you know for sure they weren't in Mpls. at this time?

I don't know if this is of any help, but if you think the death record might be your Catherine you might do well to get the original.
