Yes, Sherry, it is a hoot to hear people mispronounce the Taliaferro name! It is also amusing, but also slightly unnerving, to find a birth, death, etc., record for a particular family member under the spelling of Taliaferro and then to find another record for the same person under the spelling of Toliver or Tolliver! I am sorry, but I do not have any information regarding the origins of the name Taliaferro in regards to Taliaferro Co., Georgia.
