Hi, a little more....

I think George Sylvester Callais is the son of Sylvester Callais (born about 1853 in Illinois) and Sarah Chenot (1849-1934). I think Sylvester is the son of Baptiste Callais (or Jean? John? Baptiste Callais). More research needed on that.

Birth records for George's children are found here:

Find a Grave memorial for Sarah Chenot has links leading to much more information on this family - the link to George needs to be established, but this family is placed in East St. Louis, St. Clair county, Illinois, where George was born (per his World War I draft registration) and George's middle name of Sylvester also seems to tie him to Sylvester Callais,
Sarah Chenot (married name Callais)
Birth:        Aug. 1, 1849 in Ridge Prairie, St. Clair, Illinois
Death:        Mar. 4, 1934 in East Saint Louis, St. Clair, Illinois

You'll find more memorials for the family, including George and some of his children, on Find a Grave website.

George's son Kenneth Callais lived at one time in Pine City, Miinnesota, and George's son John married Rosalie and lived in Minnesota and died 25 Dec 1989, both facts per a descendant's post (Lisa). Several of your cousins are posting in this discussion and one has done an extensive genealogy. Find the discussion here:

Hope this helps!
