The Douglas County historical society also has a death record index, a marriage record index (if Gustav remarried, or any of the kids married) and they also have an index for most people who are buried in the cemeteries there.
If they were Swedish, and living in the town of Alexandria, they probably attended the Svea Lutheran Church, now called the Calvary Lutheran church. They might have old church records there at the church.
