I found a baby girl named Matilda who was born 2 June 1861 in Laxarby parish. She was baptised the next day. Her parents were Peter Olsson and his wife Anna Maja Andersdotter. They lived in a place called Kroken in that parish.

This is how that family looked in the household examination book at that time.

I do not know for sure if this Matilda is yours, but I got the idea of looking in Ödskölt parish when I found a Matilda Petersdotter born 2 October 1861 in Ödskölt who was living in Krona, Laxarby parish. (Date errors are common in Swedish records. The priests had as much trouble reading their own writing or the writing of other priests as we do, and once an error happened, it tended to continue.)

This Matilda with the 2 October birthdate had moved out to America in 1882 and she moved back in from America in 1883. I found her on the Emibas CD.

Un-normalized versions:

Parish of birth: Ödsköld

Of course, you can see in #2 that she returned to the U.S. and was listed as being unmarried. This is a clue which you need to study. I don't have time to study her for you. (I am not related.)

Please try to see if you can find your ancestors at the archive called the Swenson Center. They do research for a fee if you can't get there yourself.
