Trying to Find My Mom's Birth Parents
Posted by: Bill Proznik (ID *****0646) Date: June 19, 2012 at 12:37:08

I am in search of information helping or leading me to my MOther's birth parents. My Mom, was born on December 3, 1935 at a Catholic Orphanage in or near Winona, Minnesota. When I had tried to check this I was told the records are in boxes and stored off-site. I was told there were Catholic orphanages near and in Winona. But I was also told that Winona County may have the records at its off-site storage unit. My uncle said he believed my Mom's last name was Prizinski or Prasanovich something like this. But he said she could have been adopted in Minneapolis, too. He wasn't sure since my Mom's paper havve been destroyed. My Mom's adoptive parents were John and Catherine Novak of Bramble, Minnesota. But they also lived in Gheeen and Orr, Minnesota. My grandfather was a logger, but then owned a farm and then a store/bar. My Mom's adoptive name was Phyllis Jean Novak. I am hoping someone may be able to help me. She died June 23, 1996 in Gilbert, Minnesota.
