I suggest that you buy or draw a genealogy family tree chart, since so many names are repeated/duplicated in your family tree. If you draw it out visually, it might be easier for you to keep track of them. The dates for these people are going to be the way to know who is who.

The information I gave you was for the farthest back ancestor - the one who came over from Norway, was in the civil war, and was married twice, (2nd time to Anna) and farmed in Military township, Winneshiek, Iowa.
