IF you can send for his birth certificate, or death certificate, or obituary, it sometimes tells the mother's name. Also, on the Social Security application, they have to write their mother and father's name.

I went to ancestry.com and even though I don't subscribe, if typed in Conrad Holter for Minnesota, and if you hover your mouse arrow over the VIEW, it will tell you a little more.
