i doubt that it helps but i have family from new jersey. arthur mellin is the earliest that im sure of but i seem to recall his father being a fredric(spelling?) mellin. although the emmigration was far eairlier than yours i believe. i was born in 1980, my father glen mellin in 1952 i believe, and my grand father in (?shew?)1925..maybe. however his father was arthur mellin, i think he was born american as well, but not sure. my uncle clyde worked up a tree that had got back as far as ellis island and who it was that can over the ocean. at the moment i cant remember but will get a hold of him to look. however now im thinking i was wrong, i think was the name arthur that arrived at ellis island and that my grandfather was fredric. i will find out.
