1913 - Ralph James Manwarren - 2004

Ralph James Manwarren was born June 7, 1913, in Great Oak Township, Palo Alto County, near Emmetsburg, Iowa to John and Ella (Schonberger) Manwarren. As a small child the family moved to a farm near Worthington, Minnesota. Ralph attended country schools. After school he worked out for various farmers. In 1938, Ralph purchased his farm near Westbrook and farmed with his brother Arthur. They lived there until 1981 when he moved to his present farm in Holly Township, Murray County, rural Walnut Grove. Ralph enjoyed horses. He grew up working horses and breaking them to ride and drive wagons. He currently was raising over 40 head. Ralph also enjoyed music. He played the accordion and concertina. On December 25, 2004 Ralph James Manwarren died at his home in rural Walnut Grove, Minnesota at the age of 91.

He is survived by his sister Bertha Deutschman, Windom, and seven nieces and nephews: Dennis Deutschman, Westbrook; Gene Deutschman, St. Paul; Robert Manwarren, Mankato; Patricia Bias, Wells; William Manwarren, Inver Grove Heights; Kathleen Stadler, Dewey, AZ and Bruce Manwarren, Albert Lea. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Clara De Wall; and three brothers: Judson, John and Arthur.

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook, with Rev. William Klavetter officiating. Organist was Tasha Nelson. Burial is in the Westbrook cemetery.
