I have been researching a man by the name of LEANDER DWIGHT KEE who lived in Ohio - he died while serving during the Civil War. I recently learned that he purchased 40 acres of land with the legal description of: THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF THE NORTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION TWELVE IN TOWNSHIP ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN OF RANGE THIRTY - TOTAL OF 40 ACRES. The patent was issued on July 1, 1859 to "LEANDER D. KEE of McLeod County, Minnesota". (Though he used this name for obtaining title to the property, he usually went by the name of L. Dwight Kee.) I also find that Henry Kee of McLeod County, on July 1, 1859, was issued a patent for 49 acres located in section 30 in township 117 - range 29. Henry and Leander were brothers. I have tried to find a map, on the internet, that would show which townships in McLeod county these were. Can anyone tell me which townships these were and approxomately where in the county they are - in relationship to one of the towns in the county? Leander Dwight Kee was a close friend of some members of the Harrington family - who were early settlers in the county. Thank you. Leslie Coleman Notify Administrator about this message?
