John R. & Franklin H. McNerney brothers?

I have records to show that Franklin H. McNerney received a land grant Feb. 1875 in Joe Daviess Twp. Faribault Co. and John R. McNerney received his land grant April 1876 in (I believe) Pleasant Prairie Twp. Martin Co. The land is close to each other. My conclusion is that, yes, they are brothers. But I have no proof. Franklin immigrated to America at age 7 in 1852 with his parents from Ireland. (I don't know who his parents were) His wife, Margaret Burns, immigrated with her parents when she was 16 in 1862.I don't know who her parents are either. Hoping someone has a piece to my puzzle! Diana
