While perusing the census rolls, looking for my ancestors, I came across the 1880 census for Cannon Falls that included the household of Swen Renquist, age 47; wife Augusta, age 48; sons Oscar, 14, and Theodor, 11; daughters Hilda, 8, and Olive, 4. My great grandfather's name was Oscar Renquist, born in Sweden and about the same age as this Oscar Renquist. I don't think they're the same person, though; I have my ancestor's death certificate, and his birhtdate corresponds with the immigration records of an Oscar who first arrived in Iowa at the age of 19. But, still, you gotta wonder if there's a connection somewhere.
