Millers and Vickermans in Preston, 1850s-1860s

I am researching the family of JAMES MILLER, who lived in Preston, Fillmore County in the 1850s and 1860s. In particular I am trying to confirm two facts. 1. That James Miller married ELIZABETH VICKERMAN on August 14, 1858 (I tried ordering the Republican newspaper for that time period from the MN Historical Society, but that reel was missing). 2. That their son, Thomas Herrick Miller, was born in Preston on July 2, 1865. (I did get the Republican from the Historical Society for that time period but the closest issue was missing and the paper did not seem to include birth announcements.) If anyone can give me any clues or assistance in verifying these facts, it would be greatly appreciated. James Miller's father, Herrick Miller, and brothers Isaac and John were also located in Fillmore County for a time.
