There is a lot of information about the Hoppe's and Flodings. You might want to narrow your focus to begin with.

You should contact the Douglas County historical society in Alexandria.

1219 South Nokomis
Alexandria, MN 56308-3712
Fax: 320/762-9062
Web Url:
Director: Rachel Barduson
Hours: 8 - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday & by appointment

They do research and have lots of county archives, for a reasonable fee.

Are you referring to Harold Hoppe and his wife? Was her first name Doris (Floding)?

Let me know about that,
