Services are Friday for Elvera Knudsen
WEST CONCORD -- The funeral for Elvera M. Knudsen will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Concord Church of Christ, with the Rev. Kevin Kastler officiating. Spring burial will be in Concord Cemetery.
Mrs. Knudsen, 85, a longtime West Concord-area resident, died Tuesday (Feb. 18, 1992) at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault.
Born Elvera M. Lips on Feb. 17, 1907, in Goodhue County, she grew up in the area and married David Knudson on Oct. 15, 1929, at her parents' home. They made their home in the West Concord area. Mrs. Knudsen was a longtime member of the Concord Community Club.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Gary of West Concord; four daughters, Kay (Mrs. Dean) Wright and Mrs. Phyllis Jones, both of West Concord, Donna (Mrs. Lionel) Mailhot of Concord, N.H., and Audrey (Mrs. Hilton) Vold of Kenyon; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and a brother, Myron Lips of Kenyon. Three brothers, a sister and two grandchildren preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at West Concord Funeral Chapel and an hour before the service Friday at the church.
