Here ia a web site for a history of Dadota County. Hastings is also known for its beautiful scenery. The Mississippi River borders Hastings to the north, and the St. Croix River bluffs frame it on the east. The Vermillion River slices through the City on the south, producing a spectacular waterfall located at Vermillion Falls Park. You can still see the mill race by the granary.
Dakota County was a settled mostly by farmers.
We have many family roots in Dakota and surounding Counties.
