In going through a St. Paul Dispatch newspaper I discovered the following: "HASTINGS HAPPENINGS" (p 3 St. Paul Dispatch Dec 17 1898) "Special to the Dispatch. Hastings, Minn, Dec 17-The funeral of the late Jacob Thompson will take place from the Baptist church tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. under the Masonic auspices. The deceased leaves a wife, three sons and a daughter. He was an old and prominent citizen and his death will be sincerely mourned. During the past eleven years Mr. Thompson had charge of the R.C. Libby & Co's lumber yards at West St. Paul. Hope someone can use this, Sincerely, Marjorie Bednarek
