I've traced another family to Shafer Township and am hoping that someone might be able to fill in some other holes. Here's what I have been able to gather so far: CARL Gustaf Adolf Swenson (b. 4 November 1850, Växjö,d. 21 January 1919, Chisago,MN) ANNA Lisa Svensdotter (b. 1 July 1853, Vederslöv) their children Johanna Mathilda Carlsdotter (b. 20 March 1880, Växjö, d. 11 December 1882, Växjö) Oscar HUGO Swenson (b. 23 September 1882, Växjö) Johanna Sofia Swenson (b. 8 April 1885, Växjö) Johan Fredrik Swenson (b. 12 May 1888, Växjö) Hulda Swenson (b. November 1890, MN) may have married Otto Rumplum (b.c. 1882, MN). Arthur H Swenson (b. September 1894, MN) may have married Leah E Dennis (b.c. 1901, Albert Lea). The 1900 census included all of the living family. It showed that Anna had 6 children, 5 of whom were living. That did not change in future censuses. The 1910 census shows Carl, Anna and Arthur in Shafer. The 1920 census shows Anna (widowed) and Arthur in Shafer. The 1930 census has an Arthur H Swanson of the right age living in Taylor's Falls with his wife Leah E (b.c. 1900, MN). He was listed as a mechanic in his own garage. The 1930 census has a Hulda (b.c. 1892, MN) married to Otto Rumplum (b.c. 1882, MN) living in St Paul with mother-in-law Anna Swanson (b.c. 1853, Sweden). Any ideas out there?
