I’m back. Sorry I spent so little time on this before. Maybe you ordered Leonard's death cert and have the answers? I'll go ahead and post anyway.

Okay, so we’re looking for your 2nd great grand-uncle Leonard Frederick Parker born 08 May 1900 in Minnesota or Wyoming (you wrote both).

There's more than one Leonard Parker in Minnesota b 1900 but I do believe the marriage record you found is “your” Leonard.

Cass County, Minnesota
Edward W Parker 44
Amelia C Parker 43 [seems to be Amelia Cook]
John E Parker 21
Henry W Parker 19
Leonard F Parker 10
Hazel E Parker 1 year 1 mo
Anna G Johnson 17

Minnesota Historical Society Birth Index
07 March 1909 Hazel Rebecca Parker born, mother maiden name Cook

So this is “your” Leonard, with his mother’s maiden name of Koch being Americanized to Cook.
You found Leonard Parker (no middle intial, no other info) getting married to Nina Van Epps in Cass County 1920.

At Minnesota Historical Society website, Birth Index, I found these births:

19 May 1921 Lewis William Parker born in Cass County, Minnesota, mother maiden name Van Epps

14 Oct 1924 Dorothy May Parker born in Cass County, Minnesota, mother maiden name Vaneps

So it is highly likely the Nina Van Epps and Leonard Parker you found getting married are the parents of these children.

Nina’s parents/family lived in Cass County but moved to Itasca County in 1920, 1930. It seems "your" Leonard and Nina moved to St. Louis County.

Leonard Parker
Date of Death: 22 Mar 1924
County of Death: St. Louis
Minnesota Death Certid# 1924-MN-013505

Nina M. Parker married Clifford Johnson
11 July 1927
St. Louis County, Minnesota

Proctor, St Louis, Minnesota
Clifford Johnson 37
Nina Johnson 37 born about 1903 in Minnesota
Louis Johnson 18 born about 1922 in Minnesota
Dorothy Johnson 15 born about 1925 in Minnesota
Lucille Johnson 10 born about 1930 in Minnesota
Cecil Johnson 11 born about 1929 in Minnesota
Residence in 1935: Same House (a question on the 1940 census)

This looks like Nina Van Epps Parker who has her children Louis and Dorothy with her. It seems she has remarried to Clifford Johnson and has two children, Lucille and Cecil, with him. Leonard's children have taken their stepfather's surname.

How do you like that story? So again it really seems as if the marriage record you found is for the right Leonard Parker.

It's sad that Leonard died so young; I am glad he now has a chance to tell you what happened.

Here's Nina as a child.

1900 (I have a question mark by this - don't remember why - so check this one)
