After Caroline Schaumburg died, Fred was remarried to my great-grandmother, Bertha Schroeder Barfknecht. They had one more child together. Bertha also had two children from a previous marriage, one of them being my grandmother. While not a direct descendant of the Schaumburgs, I still live in the area and can probably help with some of your questions.
